What do we focus on when doing planning

Knowledge through research: Every community has its own identity, its own culture(s), its particular problems and challenges, and is always full of potentials. We make sure to understand at least these aspects thoroughly before starting the design process. bullet Innovation: Cities grow, shrink, change. They are constantly undergoing transformation, because economy, society and technology are. Innovation is our commitment. Sustainability: Cities will only succeed economically, environmentally and socially if they are designed to be sustainable. We combine these aspects into sensible and responsible solutions that carry an identity, create opportunities and promise a future for the next generations.

Our Urban Regeneration Principles

We avoid urban renewal that compromises identity and the memory of a place. Instead, we consider urban renewal  to be an opportunity for community development rather than for mere economic growth. This is why we work on small scale and long term concepts, which involve participation, urban density management, urban green and strategic planning, among other state of the art approaches. Design for Climate Change To be competitive, socially viable and at the same time environmentally healthy, cities need to optimise their systems if they seek to reduce their carbon footprint. We have worked out tools to analyse all these aspects and identify risks and opportunities for optimisation of the urban systems. We include aspects such as traffic management, public transportation, monitoring of emissions, etc. Either for environmental concerns or for budget reasons, green design is not only advantageous but in most cases required today by law. We implement green design as a standard fashion, and are also qualified to do an energy performance assessment of your building (in conformity to 2002/91/EG, 2006/32/EG  and 2012/27/EU)

Integral Planning

We consider urban planning to be the key instrument for integral development in the community. It delivers the basic conditions to engage social balance and equity in opportunities.

Location analysis

Infrastructure investment can result in splendid architecture and beautiful results. However, no infrastructure can achieve its purpose if its location doesn't provide the necessary conditions. In other words, if an investor has a great idea, we can estimate how well its surroundings may contribute to its success or find a more appropriate location to realize it. This service is particularly interesting for investors who are looking for the ideal hotspots to invest in real estate, to open a subsidiary or to relocate.

Our Heritage Expertise

Today, the concept of heritage has a very broad sense. Protection and conservation strategies depend on issues like context, values, significance, authenticity, etc. There isn't a standard procedure to conserve heritage. However, we have worked out 3 steps which, depending on the task, may guide our service spectrum. Research: This phase may involve surveys, collection of background facts, analysis of physical conditions, assessment on the role and significance of the heritage for society/ today's perception (Cultural values like identity, artistic and technical values, rarity, etc., and socio economic values like economic impact, functional, educational, social and political values), analysis of authenticity, etc. Integral planning and identification of objectives: Which may be performed through public participation, applying existing statutes, discussing with stakeholders, joining existing objectives, etc. Design of a management plan: Involves a detailed design of specific policies and activities; strategies for conservation, visitor management, fund raising; tools and technologies for monitoring and evaluation, etc. We are qualified to design and implement projects in these fields Monuments Rehabilitation of historic buildings, management plans for historical monuments and archaeological sites Sites Urban conservation, integral regeneration of historic urban settings and ensembles Cultural landscapes Regeneration and design of management strategies for the conservation of historic landscapes and man built landscapes Natural Sites Design of management strategies for natural reserves, protected natural sites, natural parks, natural areas for integral management
